Film Director Yasmin Ahmad slipped away.
Award-winning film director Yasmin Ahmad has passed away at 11.25 pm yesterday, 25th of July 2009. On Thursday, 23rd of July, Yasmin suffered a stroke and collapsed while attending a meeting with Datuk Siti Nurhaliza and her husband, Datuk Khalid, and Media Prima representatives at Sri Pentas, TV3. She was rushed to Damansara Specialist Hospital where she underwent a neurosurgery procedure to reduce swelling in her brain. She suffered from stroke and brain hemorrhaging. In less than 48 hours after her surgery, she succumbed to her injury and pronounced dead last night.
Yasmin Ahmad was famed for her Petronas commercials and provoked controversy with films that dealt with subjects like interracial relations and teenage angst in this conservative Muslim country. She was only 51 years old.
Now that she has slipped away, we have lost a great, intelligent and creative director. She has took the heart of what makes Malaysia unique and gave it back to the world through her talented film directing and her unabashed way to tackling social issues. She`s indeed the greatest gift bestowed by God to the world.
Her first film, Rabun was released in year 2002. Her films have won many international awards and praise from the critics and public alike. Most of her films have been screened at the Berlin, San Francisco, Singapore and Cannes.
I remember the first Yasmin Ahmad`s film i watched was Sepet where i curled up on the couch together with my family members. This movie had me all choked up and contemplating the ethnic divides and unity of Malaysians. It has a heart-wrenching thematic story lines. The next movie was Gubra. It was a more mature movie with a closer look at relationships. Gubra took the complexities of marriage and human emotions and weaved them into a masterpiece that tightens the heart of people around us. I`ve yet to watch Talentime though but very soon.
Now that she has slipped away, we have lost a great, intelligent and creative director. She has took the heart of what makes Malaysia unique and gave it back to the world through her talented film directing and her unabashed way to tackling social issues. She`s indeed the greatest gift bestowed by God to the world.
May you rest in peace, Yasmin Ahmad. We will always remember you.
STOMP! Make a difference.
As stated in the pic above, the event was held yesterday in UCSI at the Auditorium. STOMP! was organized by SSLA and it was a blast. But the numbers of audience attended last night was a bit let down. This event was collaborated with the Women`s Aid Organization ( WAO ) and the main purpose of it is to do charity. It is to protect women from violent acts. So, eventually we can abuse men all we want like what we did to Galdon! Just kidding. =P
The event started at about 8.00 pm and ended at midnight. The first performance to kick-start the event was a hip hop dance by red-chicks. lol. Other performances were mainly singing and break-dancing and im sure everyone agreed that Reza Salleh`s performance was a bomb last night. And salute to those singers as they composed their very own songs. Very talented indeed. =)
It feels good to do charity. =) Kudos to SSLA for organizing the event.

Animal Rights.
First of all, i would like to say, " Congratulations to Liquid H2O!". You guys are the bomb today.*thumbs up* Despite the time management, i guess everything went on smoothly. =)
So we had our Moral presentation this morning and our title was Animal Rights. This is our team. ;)
The girls with our team leader, Victor.
Us with Coddy. ( Please ignore dat ghostly image at the back ) :P
And this is Aaron.
You see, animals do have their own rights too. They too like children, women and men, and most importantly they are also the unique creatures of God. They are born free and equal in dignity and rights. But why are they being brutally killed for the sake of entertainment purposes? Why cant they live peacefully in their own habitats? Doesnt mean they cant speak like how human do, doesnt mean they dont have feelings.
I shall let the pictures speak.
They too have feelings.
Human has seriously lost their conscience.
Together we shall make a difference and make this world a better place. Please save them.
By the way, for those who believes in superstitions, please be aware that there will be another eclipse happening tomorrow in between 0900-1000 hours. It seems that eclipse can release negative energy which is very detrimental to ones luck or life journey according to Feng Shui masters or ancient practices. So, stay indoors if possible.
Its better to be safe than sorry. :)

Pocket full of sunshine.
Hello people! =)
Im back to blogspot again. But i`ll still be using my wordpress account for my very personal posts only. :P So yea, anyway, lets talk about my college life. UCSI University is a hell of a crap. They are currently doing lots and lots of renovation and we have to use alternate routes to go to classrooms or the library. Very effing inconvenient. And it seems that its gonna take a long time.
Like wtf.
But the best part of the day was its the last class for Prob and Stats. Hooray!!! But then again, it shows that finals is freaking near and we have to do our course selection for the next semester by this Thursday already. If not, we`ll get penalty of Rm100. Argh. Its all about the $$$$ again.
Basically, today is a long day. Class at 8 am and ended an hour later. Since we had pretty much time to spare before we go for our Moral discussion, Woon Chin, Angeline and myself decided to have mixed rice for breakfast. Oh wait, its breakfast + lunch. Branch? hehe. And then we went for the discussion thinggy at about 10 am. And you know what? In less then 10 minutes, they said they wanna discuss it at McD. Shiiiies. So yea, we walked all the way back again and we ate again. I had this! =D
My all time favourite! After french fries and Oreo McFlurry larh. :P
And after that, we head to this resturant named Tai Zi to meet up with other friends. And again, we ate another round.
Bubble milk tea! *woots*
The fried fishballs and 'money bags' are yummy~!
You see, its like all fried stuffs. Not good not good.
And so the day dragged till 6 something and i reached home sharp at 1900. Very exhausted. Its 2230 hours now. I shall go get some rest and be prepared for tomorrow`s presentation.
Good luck guys!
