I'm on my very LAST semester break.

I don't know if i should be happy.

Mixed feelings, indeed.

New chapter of life will be starting real soon; the working life.

Yeah, it's not like a big deal anyway. 

Everyone faces it. 

The only difference is who loves their job and who doesn't. 

I hope mine's ain't that bad, tho i'm quite sceptical about the upcoming internshit. Hmm.

Anyways,

this is a long overdue post.

Which i'd promised much, much earlier.

And so, my mind decided to wander a lil' to the one of the best memories i had in 2012.

It was all because i spent it with the entire family.

=)

The 150-metre infinity-edged swimming pool located 57 storeys above the ground.

"Crowning the three hotel towers of Marina Bay Sands at 200 metres in the sky, the Sands SkyPark stretches longer than the Eiffel Tower when laid down".

It was all about

FREEDOM. RELAXATION. FUN. HAPPY.

It was the time where nothing seems to matter.

Being stress-free and carefree is probably the best feeling one could ever had. =)

Wish to be there right now.

And oh, they had their very own photographer there as well to take awesome photos for you where you can collect after a few hours.

Could not recall how much tho teehee.

Nasty bed bugs are nasty | What should you do if you are the unlucky one.

This post is not for the faint hearted.

Ok, strike that out cause' i think everyone should be aware of this. :)

Few days ago i was attacked bitten by those nasty bed bugs which i either sort of brought it back home here or have already been bitten but did not realized it until like 3 days after the trip.

It was a project assigned to us by this subject called Pop Culture and we were supposed to experience the backpackers life and so on where we decided to stay in a cheap dormitory at only RM 15 per bed per night. Reviews posted about the place were good and no doubt that it was a pleasure having to meet with backpackers from different countries and as well as great hospitality from the guest house itself nonetheless. 

Unfortunately, i've should've known better and should've taken precautions when we were invited up to see our beds.

It was still acceptable tho a lil' dodgy and i remember seeing the fans (no air-con) were literally covered in thick dust but it was then being cleaned so no biggie i thought. Anyways it is only 3 nights stay and since we will be spending most of the time outside, we tried our level best to save up as much as we can.

Back to the topic, my rashes started from what looks similar to mosquito bites just that it was in a row of about two to three. The most frightening part of all was when i woke up one early morning due to extreme itch and to find really huge big red patches especially on my legs (near the ankles) and a few more red bumps here and there on my hands. 

At least it didn't look THAT scary now after the injection two days back and it slowly starting to subside tho i still feel the itch every now and then. 

* Just a lil' short tips on the MYTHS AND TREATMENTS just in case if you're bitten by these nasty bugs (in no particular order);

#1. Wash your clothes, bags and whatever stuffs that you brought home with HOT water. 

#2. These bugs will eventually die (or maybe not die but crawls away) when they are exposed to hot sun hence, if possible, sun your mattresses and plush toys or anything that accumulate dust to destroy em'.

#3. They love warm and dark places and normally can be found at the seams of the bed / backpack. (i found none tho or maybe they're just too tiny to be seen)

#4. Very active at night. And that's why i felt EXTREME itch during the first few midnights.

#5. Bring along mosquito repellent and disinfectant spray when you're travelling. 

#6. The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the infection and varies from person to person. (i think mine is still considered mild cause' i've got a group member who actually have rashes literally all over her both hands and legs. way way scarier than mine situation)

#7. Doctors actually could not be 100% sure about your rashes. It might be an allergic reaction. So be sure to tell them what happened. I've a doctor who told me 'only be afraid if its scabies'. Oh, fuck.

#8. Go get a injection if the itchiness is too severe. It helps a whole lot. I could not remember when was the last time i got injected at the butt hah!

#9. Doctor will normally give you pills and lotion (somewhat like calamine) to reduce itchiness. 

#10. NO seafood and NO scratching no matter how itchy it is. It will only cause you double or triple the itch and there is a possible secondary skin infection if severe.

Truth is, the fault might not be entirely on the cleanliness of the hostel itself but it might cause from the fellow backpackers who are constantly travelling around the world. There are tonnes of backpackers that check in and out every day and you don't know what kind of parasites that they might bring and spread em' around in the hostel. Then again, hostel owners themselves should also be constantly keeping their place free from these parasites. 

Lesson learnt; never will i want to stay in cheap dorms any more. Its gruesome. And i'm being paranoid to the extend that i kept thinking the bugs are somewhat still lingering in my room lol. Can't stop wiping and vacuum-ing my room for the past 3 days. A good reason to spring clean my room just before CNY haha!

Put that all aside, i hope that these rashes will recover soon before CNY. And with that, i hope no Monday blues for you people who are working out there despite the rather gloomy weather. Cheers to a great Monday ahead. ;)

My Experience in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

This Marina Bay Sands features three 55-storeys hotel towers which is connected by a 1 hectare sky terrace on the roof named Sands SkyPark where the 150m long infinity pool is that is located on the 57th floor.

One Two words to describe this megastructure?
Dyam Fuckin' awesomeeeeeee.

Date back to 28th of Nov 2012, as soon as we arrived Harbourfront by Aeroline, we quickly took a cab to our hotel in much anticipation to see what this spectacular building has to offer.

When i stepped into the building I was instantly smitten.

A warm welcome was extended to us by the staffs and we were greeted with a huge Xmas tree and such unique designs / structure of the building at the lobby itself.

This is where we checked in but wasted some time here as one of the Club Room was not ready yet due to the overwhelming number of guests during that holiday and festive season.

It was fully booked!

All of our room numbers that made us confused for the next four days.

Even till today i could not remember who's staying in which room haha but mine was the 2476. ;)

Welcome to our room. 

As soon as we opened the door, we were greeted with a huge mirror on the left and the toilet is on the right.

A very welcoming feeling indeed as we stepped in and explore the classy spacious room.

Whoever that gets to sleep on that extra bed is the luckiest! The view was spectacular.

Perfect moment to wake up to. Spot the Merlion. =)

And guess which was my bed?

The couch.

Still very fluffy and comfy tho! Teehee.

The room is ~47 sq m and comes with either a king bed or two twin beds and as well as electronically adjustable sheer and blackout curtains.

Guests can choose a premier room that is located at towers 1 and 2 from the 19th floor onwards for a guaranteed view of the best city-skyline. Guests enjoy exclusive access to Sands SkyPark infinity pool, entry to Banyan Tree Fitness Club, complimentary airport shuttle bus to hotel and complimentary high-speed internet (wired and wireless).

On the other hand, the club room guests get to enjoy extra privileges like;

Above all that, the club room is ~61 sq m and is located on the 35th to 49th floors in Tower 2 and has a iPod/iPhone docking station with alarm/radio as well as a Nespresso machine.

Toilet amenities like shampoo, foam / bath wash, soap, comb, body lotion, hair dryer, toothbrush, cotton buds, clean towels, etc are all fully provided. Indeed it was very clean, spacious and elegance at its best.

Comes with both bathtub and walk-in shower but did not have the time to enjoy dippin' in the bathtub. Afterall we have the pool upstairs right teehee.

But one thing, the toilet has this huge sliding wooden door which you can't lock from the inside hence, if you're with a bunch of really naughty friends.....then teehee, good luck! ;) 

Everything that you need is provided and one more thing, be very cautious of the mini bar/refrigerator. Every drink/snacks that you take out from the fridge will be automatically charged into your account as there's a sensor under each and every item. So even if you don't intend to drink or eat (chocolates and hard liquor included), DO NOT lift em' up by all means. Which also means, keep your lil' kids away from it just in case if they lift anything up by accident. :)

I feel so honoured haha!

Staying in MBS is uber convenient. Due its huge and maze-like area, assistance from the concierge would come in handy as the building links to places like The Shoppes in Marina Bay Sands (where you are only 5 mins away from the casino and retail therapy sessions), Garden By The Bay, train station and so on. Free shuttle bus services are also available to certain destinations and the bus stop is only situated right behind of MBS.

All in all, it was a very pleasant trip having to stay in Marina Bay Sands!

Such a memorable trip with the entire family that is filled with so much love and laughters!

So guys, if you're looking for a short getaway to somewhere not too far and at the same time indulge yourself in perfection, you know where to go eyh? ;)

A Place Not to be Missed When You're in Bangkok;

Hello folks!

Here's the continuation from my previous post regarding the trip to Bangkok with my fam. 

It is downright true that Bangkok is famous for its shopping galore and Chatuchak Market a.k.a JJ Market is something you definitely do not want to miss out. Girls, i bet you will go crazy!!

P/S: Be prepared to drenched yourself in sweat and that very-uncomfortable-sticky feeling on your largest organ; the skin. 

Take the BTS (Sky Train) and the last stop (Mo Chit) is where the Chatuchak Market is. 

It is about 5 to 6 stops from where we stayed and we only paid about 40 baht per person if im not mistaken.

(The BTS is uber convenient and cheap tho taking cabs in Bangkok is rather cheap too.)

Since Chatuchak Market is only open during the weekends, hence, the place is so crowded with both locals and tourists as well.

"Bangkok's Chatuchak area is of course famous for the mother of all markets, Chatuchak Weekend Market the biggest in Asia. Covering 70 rai (35 acres) of land with over 15,000 stalls and more than 200,000 visitors every Saturday and Sunday, conquering this massive market is no easy feat. A visit to the Thai capital would also not be complete without a day or two browsing here, because a few hours simply won't do the job."

Really mind-blowing.

It was so cool!

All in all, you can get just about anything and everything here in Chatuchak. Just bear the heat and be prepared too for being exhausted and sore legs at the end of the day. Honestly, i did not really go through every single alley cause' there's too many and it is rather confusing (no wonder people call it a maze!).

Also, brush up on your negotiation skills and bargain for the best price! I bought dresses and bikini at below RM 25! Just imagine how crazy you'll get. ;) 

Just a confession tho, after visiting Bangkok i will not buy anything online anymore. It's the same stuffs and yet they hike the price to at least triple! 

Have fun shopping in Bangkok! Don't forget Platinum fashion shopping mall as well. ;)

Bangkok Through My Lens - The Land of Thousand Smiles. =)

Am back!!

Bangkok was incredible, clubbing was ze awesome and part-time job was great.

Too bad, i'm down with flu and sore throat and i could feel fever is on its way so just bear with me teehee.

It's the last week of our semester break and i would not want to spend this last week of joy having to survive all these sickness. Rest and eating med on time is all i need now. =)

Anyways, lets get down to business. ;)

If you know me well, you would have known that I LOVE clouds. I love those large, puffy cumulus clouds that looks like cotton candy and it also gave me a kind of feeling in finding peace within myself, somehow.

This shot was taken when we were heading to Suvarnabhumi International Airport, Thailand.

#1. Our hotel room.

Hotel S33 Compact.

Situated at Sukhumvit 33. 

Bro booked the size L room. 

(approx. 1,600 baht per night)

We actually had a slight miscommunication with the hotel management. We did not know that the maximum number of people for per room is only 3 and they wanted to charge us an additional of 1,800 baht for my brother and myself but they are only able to give us one extra bed. A lil' ridiculous cause' if you can see from the pic above, that super huge bed is more than enough to accommodate 3 ppl and the other one can just sleep on the long couch. But it is their POLICY. It is way different than that of our country because basically we don't care about how many ppl we wanna squeeze in.

End up, after wasting about an hour in the lobby, (mind you it was already like 8pm and we were so hungry after the flight and car ride) we finally reached to a decision whereby they only charge us an additional of 900 baht and the following nights we need to get another room (size M) with a discounted rate at about 1,200 baht if im not mistaken.

Well, what we think is that they have this policy is to make sure all of their guests stay comfortably. But trust me, even we have to squeeze the four of us in that room, it is more than comfy and spacious enough. Plus, it is one of the cheapest and decent hotel you can find in Bangkok cause' most of the other high-end ones are at least 3,000 baht and above.

This is our size M room. Another person could actually sleep on the long couch as well lol.

Super clean toilet. But i dislike the glassed door. My mum was peeping on me in the shower the first night and she said she saw everything. T__T There's a hole at the side where you can actually peep into. FML.

American breakfast served by the hotel. Its the same every morning. I actually preferred American breakfast instead of all the rice and whatsoever heavy meals early in the morning. Teehee. Healthy breakfast all the way yo! Plus, those danish pastries are realllllly good. 

#2. Food for Thought.

Food that you can find along the streets and food you can't find here in Malaysia (some of it).

This is the night after we checked-in. Too hungry so we just settle for some Thai food nearby our hotel. They pretty much tasted the same like what we have here in KL and roughly about the same price too but just look at the ambiance. *two thumbs up* They call it a fine dining restaurant.

Pad thai! 

My favourite! If you like char kuey teow, then you might like this. It's the sweet version of our char kuey teow. A must try when you step your feet in the land of thousand smiles. And those pork sausages are so yummmmay. 

Omg coconuts there are so cheap. 15 baht for the super fragrant coconut. I don't know how many we've bought during the entire trip teehee.

Samurai pork burger ftw!! This definitely you can't get in KL. Such succulent pork patty that you just can't resist. *salivates*

Found a pretty good Japanese bakery in Emporium shopping complex that is situated about 15-minutes walk away from our hotel.

They serve really good cream puffs; strawberry, chocolate, green tea, milk, etc.

I personally love this green tea. The fresh cream filling's so super duper yummay that you just can't help but to get another one. I don't mind having this everyday tho hehehe.

I was so happy too that i found my best stall of all! I love milk! And everything here is made up of milk omg jumps in joy.

Milk tablets that i've been looking for so loooooooog. I don't know why but i find it hard to find good milk tablets anywhere else. 

Milk cravings satisfied! Ice-creams are the bomb! I'm a happy kid! :D

Emporium is one happening shopping complex. All the food galore are situated inside the mall. Such heavenly. =)

The best of all would be their hospitality. The Thais are really friendly. Most of em'. Glad that they are willing to help, unlike this stuck-up country that is ruling by bollocks. =(
